Creating Positive Outcomes

Christmas Preparations

Residents throughout December were creative in many ways in the preparations for Christmas.

Apart from decorating their home in the traditional way with a tree, paperchains, and tinsel, all three homes created a fabulous Christmas mural. Residents were busy in art and craft sessions making decorations as well and personal Christmas cards for their loved ones.

Help was offered to the kitchen teams by making the 'pigs in blankets', ginger biscuits and gingerbread houses.

Whitebriars created their own advent calendar, with a treat for residents every day. Christingle's were made with the traditional oranges and cloves, giving a wonderful aroma. Residents also made light lanterns from jars, giving a cosy atmosphere.

All homes made wreaths from fresh ferns, pine cones and leaves that the staff had foraged, some could be seen decorating bedroom doors.

All of these tasks were done with smiles and laughter and plenty of Christmas music playing.
