Creating Positive Outcomes

Various August Activities - part 1

Our activities team continue to work really hard creating a varied, fun and stimulating environment for our residents.

Although we work to a well thought out programme of activities, this is a flexible programme that can easily be changed or moved around to fit with the residents wants and needs.

Although our bus trips are still temporarily on hold due to the current Covid19 pandemic, we are making sure that our residents are able to gently get back in to the community if they wish to. We are taking small groups to the sea front and to local parks for a stroll and refreshments.  The weather has continued to be warm and sunny so fish and chips on the pier and ice creams have been a favourite.  A small group of residents enjoyed a trip to a local garden centre. Residents are now able to enjoy our holiday home at Combe Haven. Although we are unable to use all the facilities, it is a safe environment to enjoy getting out and about and it is a welcome change of scenery. All safety guidelines are being followed.

All the usual activities have been included in the programme, flower arranging, music therapy, arts and crafts, reminiscing, dominoes, chess, connect 4, baking, parachute games, exercise sessions, puzzles, knitting, pampering sessions, basket ball and floor/garden games.

This month has also enjoyed a Chinese takeaway for two of our residents, an celebratory anniversary meal for two residents, an 18th birthday of our 'carer of the quarter' at Whitecliff  and Ami at Whitebriars received flowers and gifts as she goes on maternity leave.

Residents have also enjoyed seeing the Bexhill Stone Snake that has been created by local children and families as a memorial of 2020 and the Covid19 pandemic.

The Bexhill 100 classic car show was a high light for Whitebriars Residents. This year it was a drive through of the classic cars enabling residents to safely watch the spectacle at a safe distance.

We continue to be passionate about creating positive outcomes for our residents.
