Because of 'lockdown' we were unable to go on our twice weekly bus trips, and have visits from our loved ones, so keeping busy and fulfilled was a priority.
We continue to run a full activity programme of flower arranging, games, puzzles, quizzes, music therapy, beauty treatments (particularly enjoyed in Whitecliff's new hair salon), bingo, baking, quiet story time, reminiscing and lots of arts and crafts. Sarah from Creative minds even organised changing our wall mural and sent our residents some craft kits to complete in her absence. Regular visitors, 'Drawing Life' also sent residents some work books to enjoy.
We celebrated many birthdays, we hope we made them extra special, residents enjoying time with their 'Coast Care family'. A special 'polo' cake was made for a resident who loves the famous mint!
Whitecliff enjoyed the company of 'Gwen' the puppy who is much loved by all the residents and staff alike.
We encourage our residents to embrace technology, we arranged many facetime/skype conversations. Some families came to the building to wave at their loved ones from afar.
As we move onto May we will be keeping a close eye on Government guidelines regarding isolation recommendations.
