Fun filled January

No such thing as a dull January at Coast Care Homes.

Our comprehensive activity programme thrived through the winter month of January, bringing fun packed activities for our residents and day care clients.

One to one quiet activities of reminiscing, beauty treatments, nail painting and hair dressing, games of chess, card games, draughts, puzzles and quiet reading time are enjoyed between residents and staff. Some of our residents and day care clients value this quiet time others enjoy the group activities which can be enjoyed everyday.

Our minibus continues to make trips from all three homes two to three times a week whatever the weather.  This month residents enjoyed several trips to the pub, trips to different cafes and garden centres to enjoy looking at plants to remind us that Spring is around the corner. We always stop for cups of tea and cake and sometimes lunch out. Trips to the cinema, sale shopping and museums have also been enjoyed.

Group activities this month included, arts and crafts particularly themed on our planned Valentines parties and dinners. We enjoyed visits from Sarah of Creative Minds, she organised sensory clay work which was very much enjoyed by the residents from Whitecliff. Sarah organised with Poppy a colourful animal wall mural that all the residents and day care clients participated in creating.

We regularly encourage residents to get involved with simple household tasks, laying tables in the dining room, sorting the laundry and preparing suppers and snacks of pizzas, savoury bites and baking cakes.

Group games and quiz's are played daily. We regularly burst into to song and enjoy having a dance, never a dull moment!
